Chiara Bailie – Disappear

Release Date – 26th October 2020

Words: Kim Holder

Her debut single ‘Disappear’ is an acoustic guitar-driven slow song with peaceful melodies that I find very captivating and relatable. The topic of mental health can be hard to talk about for a lot of people, however, I feel as if this song sums up beautifully how hard it can be when you are struggling with your mental health and you can really feel the emotion In her voice.

In this track, she describes the feeling of feeling overwhelmed by life as everything is happening so fast around you that it just makes you want to disappear. This is shown in the lyrics “sometimes the world moves way too fast and it makes me want to disappear”. Which with such a fast pace world that we now live in, isn’t an uncommon feeling for a lot of people. She also sings “I don’t wanna be that version of myself anymore”, which can be when a person doesn’t feel like they are the best version of themselves, which we can all relate to at some point in our lives.

I love this debut song and highly recommend people to give it a listen. I believe that Chiara Baillie will gain a larger following from this debut release, which she deserves. If you are a fan of artists like Pheobe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine or Sasha Sloan, then you are sure to love Chiara, so be sure to give this track a listen.
