The VCRs’ newest single ‘Wonderland’ is a hard hitting rock song for the masses. Blast this out walking down the street or driving home from work as it’ll leave you with a spring in your step.
The synths are layered perfectly with the punching guitars, keeping that classic rock sound with a modern synth edge. What makes this song stand out to me most is that it’s mixed amazingly well, no instrument or vocal line is drowned out, giving you a perfect listening experience.
Frontman Ian Rushton’s echoing vocals carry the song into a wonderful guitar solo and just when you think the song is over the final chorus crashes down on you, ending the song with a bang.
After listening to this tune a dozen times I start to draw comparisons to bands like The Twilight Sad and The Pigeon Detectives, so if you’re fans of those bands, The VCR could be the band for you!
