Two Eyes Open – Good Gone Away

Release Date – 20th August 2020

Record Label – Unsigned

Words: Fern Blundell

‘Good Gone Away’ is the latest release from Dustin Parlier’s solo project, Two Eyes Open, a pop punk band drawing inspiration from the likes of Green Day, Blink-182 and other legends of pop punk.

With a nostalgic mid-2000’s feel given through catchy and repetitive lyrics with a loud simple guitar riff throughout it’s just begging to be sang by a large crowd when gigs finally return. Its quick paced intro gets you hooked, and the long outro makes you really think about the message of the lyrics, which are about losing your chance with a soulmate and grief.

The North Carolina native is no stranger to writing about tough topics, with a previous acoustic single ‘Face the Light’ being written in response to the recent issues with police brutality in America. All proceeds from that single were donated to organisations specialising in protecting the rights of black people in America.
