All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey

Our final Christmas throwback looks at Mariah Carey and ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ seeing as though it finally hit number 1!

Released in 1994 and arguably the most synonymous song associated with Christmas, I was shocked to find out on our Christmas party Zoom quiz that 2020 was the first time it had ever reached number 1 in the UK charts. This is everything Christmas is about. It’s upbeat, puts a smile on your face, gives you that excitement you feel when running downstairs to open your presents, but also discussed the loved-ones around you and ultimately thats all we need.

Although not my favourite Christmas song, it is the favourite of millions and I can understand why, it’s cringy, loveable and it is Mariah Carey, nobody else could put this song off.

All round just a lovely Christmas song and as we count down to our Christmas dinners, I’m sure we will all hear this hundreds of times, and not get bored of it!
