Whatever – Oasis

“I’m free, to be whatever I, whatever I choose and I’ll sing the blues if I want” are the opening lyrics to the emotional, hard hitting tale of freedom, provided to us by Oasis.

Taken from ‘Definitely Maybe’, ‘Whatever’ is my favourite Oasis song and is the favourite of many others. This is probably down to the fact it is their best song!

But in all seriousness, this is rock n’ roll with an edge, an added orchestral piece and in my opinion one of the bests Liam performances you can find on record. Every note is hit to perfection. Backed by fantastic guitar licks and riffs, this really does highlight the best side of Oasis.

Reiterating their image as a band of being free to be whatever they want, whilst creating a more delicate sound for the masses to sing along to really does highlight the beauty of this song.
