Starz in Their Eyes – Just Jack

Earlier this week I was flicking through my playlist and on came this absolute belter of a tune.

Starz in their eyes by Just Jack was released in 2007, yet almost 14 years on I find myself playing this song over and over. It was the lead single from his second album, and everytime I hear it I find myself bobbing along. It’s one of those tracks you’ll put on when you’re controlling the aux in the car and everyone loves it. It’s also a tune you can hear after years of not but the familiarity of it just makes you feel absolutely class.

With bouncy drums and guitar riffs that fill you with electricity, you can’t help but groove along to this absolute classic. We must all know the chorus “why’d you wanna go and put starz in their eyes” is something I remember belting out when I was only 9 years old.

It can certainly be noted that the up-beat rhythm, alongside Just Jack’s familiar voice are what make this track so appealing. A tune I’d love to hear performed live at one of his gigs, arguably the one song everyone would be waiting for. Admittedly, this is one of just two or three songs I regularly listen to by the artist; but it is one of my all-time favourites at that.
