Anna May – Careless

In the modern day, the music industry is somewhat oversaturated with men playing guitars and singing love songs. However, since the early days and you could argue in her recent album, has their really been a female do this successfully other than Taylor Swift? I can’t be too sure, but what I can be sure of is Anna May’s raw talent just waiting to blossom into fame. 

With an incredible stripped back sound, ‘Careless’ provides us with a feeling of beauty in what can only be described as a miserable time. Vocally, she has a unique style to the high notes which really do show off her unhinged talent. 

This song will make you feel again. It’s the kind of song you can picture during the dramatic death of a main character in the Twilight series, or even better, you can picture being lit up in stadiums around the world with lighters in the air, tears flowing and crowds wailing along.

‘Careless’ is 6 minutes and 27 seconds of love, loss and I’m honestly here for it. She states “did you say I was perfect” towards the back end of the song, with her hauntingly good voice, and I haven’t during this review but I sure have been close.
