Milan takes his subdued pop sound and twists it on its head with dispirited vocals and subdued electronic elements. These elements really intensify the emotions felt in the lyrics and the straining guitar chords heighten the pain emanating throughout. You’re put in his shoes here and feel the pain is if it were your own.
His lyrics are what make his music stand out. The chorus “21 grams, that’s what I’ve been missing/ 21 grams, you stolen while we were kissing” highlight what it’s like to have loved and lost. He’s likening the addiction you feel to another soul when in love to a more materialistic addiction and the emptiness felt after such. It’s a beautifully crafted piece of pop music.
Thoughtfully put together, and I’m excited to hear more of what’s to come from Milan, and I’m sure you are too.
