Rivita – Lonely with Someone

The track is a sombre sounding one, with emotive, soulful sounding vocals. The instrumental has a peaceful tone incorporating a mix of electro-acoustic sounds which gain pace as the track goes on. Towards the end of the tune an overlay of an argument between a couple can be heard, which evoke the deeper meaning of the song, highlighted with powerful lyrics such as “I’d rather be alone, than be lonely with someone” and “the world broke you, so you broke me too”. Lyrics which the artist added are “about moving on, being defiant, and about knowing that we deserve better”; a message which resonates throughout. 

‘Lonely With Someone’ is a chilled out tune which follows on from Rivita’s previous release ‘Someone Else’s Arms’ which was hounded single of the month by BBC London in December 2019. Rivita now has over 1,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and has also gained recognition from Rolling Stone Magazine.

A clear singer-songwriter-producer who holds three degrees in the field of music and audio; Rivita is a refreshing voice who I hope we hear more from in 2021.
