Liverpool based artist Harry Miller has released his first track of 2021, bringing to the table the mellow, utopian sounding track ‘By Your Side’.
This is one I can imagine listening to, driving along a country road as the sun is setting with a loved one. From the deep, smooth vocals to the jangly, feel-good instrumental; the track has a bit of everything and left me wanting to listen over again. Lockdown walks on warm summer nights are scenarios so many of us have become familiar with over the last year, and this track is a reflection of that.
Written during the early days of the pandemic ‘By Your Side’ brings to the table a dreamy vibe. It focuses on the excitement and feelings that come with a new relationship, and this is reflected in lyrics such as ‘being by your side makes me feel alive’ and ‘you and me we’ve got these dreams of endless possibilities’. We had the chance to chat with Harry on our podcast (out June 19th!) and he told us how the idea came about whilst watching a sunset by the Mersey with a girl he was dating.

‘By Your Side’ certainly highlights a shift in Harry’s sound, which he has had time to develop over the course of the last 18 months. The positive, dreamy indie-pop vibes in ‘By Your Side’ are refreshing, and I can’t wait to hear what’s to come from the EP.
