RELEASE DATE – 13th August 2021
Words: Dan Gaughran
Those lyrics have been bouncing around my head since the release of Wrexham based band Jonny Ash’s new track ‘We are the people’. They’ve been creeping up on me when I least expect it, provoking me to hum along or whistle the tune when I’m doing, well just about anything.
With their newest track invoking their signature clever guitar work, with more political lyrics than we are used to, ‘We Are The People’ becomes their most ambitious song to date, and I reckon they’ve nailed it. The song is definitely worth a listen, I defy anyone to listen to it and not catch themselves singing along when they don’t expect it, even hours after they’ve listened it.
Earlier this year we had a chat with the band to get a feel of what they are all about, so if anyone’s interested head over to give that podcast a listen!
All in all, I think they have cemented themselves as far more than just ‘alright’ by now, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. The band have a tour coming up, so head over to their socials if you are interested in that, I can’t wait to see them live! One love and everyone stay safe. If you can’t rock, keep on rolling.
