The Q’s Release Catchy Indie Anthem ‘Movies’

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Movies – Release Date: 7th April 2023

BAND MEMBERS

Leo Grace – Lead Vocals
Freddie Franchi – Rhythm
Dexter Burningham – Lead Guitar
Mattia Paganelli – Drums
Ben Woolford – Bass

‘Movies’ is the latest single to come from Leeds based band The Q’s. As only the third single to be released by the band, following on from their debut ‘In Neutral’ and last years Rex Orange County-esque single ‘Tranquilo’, ‘Movies’ proves the bands versatility in their sound.

Blending the anthemic sound’s of the 90’s with 2000’s alternative rock, The Q’s are developing with every release.

The bridge in ‘Movies’ encapsulates what The Q’s are all about, building up the song for an electrifying guitar solo which is sure to get crowds bouncing up and down the country, not to mention the lyrics which are sure to get stuck in your head for hours on end.

Don’t hang up that phone

I know that you’re at home

We’ll sort this out tomorrow

Come on just let it go

Won’t laugh when you moan

I’m a dickhead yeah I know

Come on just let it go

Movies – The Q’s

‘Movies’ is ultimately a great, catchy indie anthem which has already amassed over 1600 listens.

GET TO KNOW THE Q’S

  1. How do you feel about your first recording, looking back at it now?
    • Not the world’s best recording and cost a pretty penny but gets belted out every gig and my mum loves it
  2. Name one artist you wish you could have a cuppa with?
    • Stevie Wonder, put the rumours to the test
  3. What’s the ambition driving the band?
    • To not get to 50 and look back with regret. If we don’t make it that’s life but I wanna know I gave it a go
  4. Do you remember the first song you fell in love with?
    • Roses by Outkast is my first ever memory so was probably my first song I loved
  5. Favourite takeout?
    • Depends how hungover I am; but I do love a Mexican, she’s called Charlie (Girlfriend)
  6. How would you describe your sound in 3 words?
    • Proper catchy tunes
  7. What was the first gig you ever went too?
    • Robbie Williams, Queens Diamond Jubilee… well shite
  8. What was the best gig you’ve been too?
    • Slaves (or Soft Play now) with Slowthai opening, threw my shoe onstage and got called something that rhymes with Bunt by Slowthai in the NME. Quality gig and Dexter our guitarist joined that night
  9. If you could pass on one piece of advice to other upcoming bands, what would it be?
    • Stay out of my way
  10. Finally, who are you and why should we listen to you?
    • We’re THE Q’s and we’ve got big plans. Nothing better than loving a band before the blow up so get in on us now just in case, something to brag about if your mate sticks us on. Up THE Q’s!
