It’s July. The weathers been a bit pitchy I’ll admit, but it’s still the middle of summer, so why oh why has Ashley Stacey decided this would be the perfect time to have a little play with my heart strings?
Taking us on a journey accompanied by wonder band ‘The Morning Sun’, Ashley has truly set his sound and style on a clear and forward thinking vision bringing yet more influence from the 90’s and before. It doesn’t take long for those influences to be felt. ‘Do You Feel?’ is the opening track and oh my word what a way to open. Sending shivers down your spine and the smell of Turkey Twizlers through the nose it’s truly something special irregardless of the strength of the whole piece. It genuinely feels as if I’ve known and had this song in my heart for longer than I can remember and that’s truly something new I have to be honest! Ashley has had a special place in my heart since my first discovery of his talent, but it’s different now, it’s like he’s managed to transcend and circumvent the regular rules of music and has rewritten them for his own gain… it’s phenomenal.
I could honestly keep going for days, in fact I have so much to say and so much of it is so irrelevant I’ve been writing this particular piece for just over a week and have to keep deleting and rewriting to try and do the music and the musicians behind it the credit and love they all deserve. Because like I mentioned of course, our darling Mr.Stacey isn’t the only musician bringing talent and love to Spotify, there’s an entire band rising and supporting him as he does the same. Bringing a plethora of talented musicians with him it truly has gripped me as I’m sure it will you all
Another level achieved for the rising star? Maybe, but one thing is for certain. Ashley Stacey is fast staking his name as one of the brightest stars on the indie scene, can’t say I didn’t warn you! So for those of you still not on board with this wave of brilliance give your head a shake, hopefully afterwards you’ll be able to appreciate the beauty of the work! Cover to cover bangers with such a strong start is rare for me, for that I thank everyone involved! Until next time, take it easy and behave yourselves!
