The Rah’s are back ahead of the release of their second studio album with the new single ‘Blood For Gold’. The gritty track packed with energy and infectious guitar riffs is sure to make its way into your on repeat.
The East Lothian 5-piece’s track has already gained support from John Kennedy of Radio X and Jack Saunders of BBC Radio 1 and it is clear to see why. Front man Jack McLeod’s powerful vocal drives the spirit of the track with lyrics like, “It looks good from the outside,” depicting the struggles of being in an unsigned band.
I think there is something so refreshing in hearing a band talk about how difficult it is to make it, instead of just providing fans with a highlight reel of their success. The song is an anthem of passion from the band, yes there may be struggles in trying to make it in the music industry, but this song makes it all sound worth it — this track needs to be played at full volume.
The backing vocals throughout the track are very reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys classics like ‘R U Mine?’ and ‘One For The Road’. The Rah’s uplifting melodies combined with their catchy rock grooves make them destined for success, their talent deserves to be showcased on festival stages just like Arctic Monkeys.
I definitely recommend you give ‘Blood For Gold’ a listen ahead of the album ‘The Common Ground’ which is set to be released on the 12th of April.
