Crashing onto the scene Salford indie trio The Height have had a triumphant few months; being the first headline act for the recent creative path of ‘Salford Introduces’, an upcoming headline gig at the iconic Deaf Institute ‘The Height’ are certainly carrying the Mancunian musical baton attacking the indie scene with their latest single ‘All of Us’.
Like a secret lovechild of Jake Bugg, the acoustic anthem wraps its head around the collective mundanity of life, yet the undeniable class divide that still haunts the UK, harking back to the efforts of its local predecessors Oasis. A unifying ‘arms around your pals’ chorus carries this tune. ‘It’s not cut out for us to change’ casually colloquialises the mutual fear of individuality in good old working class Manc fashion.
Lead singer John Denton’s sincerity in his vocals hounds through the track, a heavy sense of realness and relatability, circulated by a certified indie riff.
If a seal of approval from Rockstars doesn’t certify your queries than maybe Johnny Marr’s might just cut it, after he recently awarded Denton the first ever ‘The Salford Foundation Trust Johnny Marr Award’. Not bad for a lad from Salford, eh?
The Height have claimed themselves a bona-fide indie banger with their latest track, bless your ears with it below!
