Crook On The Wall have arrived and with their new single ‘These Cracked Streets’ they are sure to become your new favourite band.
The young four piece from Manchester have already made waves in both the local and
national scene with their debut single ‘Imperial Mind’ receiving support from Radio X.
‘These Cracked Streets’ is a powerhouse that instantly grabs you with its commanding guitar and bass. Fast, heavy and full of energy this track has all the ingredients to make it a rock staple that crowds flock to festivals to hear.
The meaning of the song is grounded in the experience of the band growing up around the streets of Manchester. It’s an anthem of living in the now with lyrics like ‘Let them decide how they should rule the world’ being a standout line from the chorus. The song echoes the band’s situation as unsigned underground artists who make music about the authentic issues they face in their lives and I think that’s what makes this track so exciting. ‘These Cracked Streets’ shows a raw side to the band and allows you to fully connect with the lyrics.
The band members ages range between 15 and 17 and this really came as a shock to me. The potential this band has is unbelievable – to be so young, self-managed and release a track this good! The sky is truly the limit for them.
In short, keep a lookout for Crook On The Wall because they are a band about to start an incredible journey. They’re a name destined to bill on festival line-ups and sell-out tours. I don’t think I’ve been as excited about a band as I am with Crook On The Wall in a long time! Hearing this track before they’re famous feels like a treat because with a single like ‘These Cracked Streets’ I think it’s only a matter of time before they are a household name.
