After what feels like months, nay years of their fans begging for music, promisingly talented belfast based indie rock trio Cairo Station have finally released their first ever single, and boy was it worth the wait.
Despite a few lineup changes, it is clear the band’s music has gone from strength to strength as they have recently played Belfast’s iconic ‘Mandela Hall’ which has been a temporary home to many massive artists including The Clash, U2 and Ed sheeran. Yet, at least for me, the release of ‘menace’ today really signifies the band moving forward in their career, taking not just Belfast, but the world by storm.
While this is their first official release, Cairo Station have defied odds and developed an extremely strong fan following, and i’m sure their followers’ musical appetite will be satisfied when listening to ‘Menace’, a delicious morsel that just proves that when it comes to music, Belfast is the place to be. The entire tune just proves how incredibly talented this band is, as every element is crafted perfectly to align with the band’s post punk, slightly grunge vibe. Full of heart thumping drum beats, rapturous guitar riffs, extremely infectious lyrics and siren esque vocals, it is clear Cairo Station are here to make their mark on the music scene with their hypnotically unique sound.
For fans of post-punk genre, Wolf Alice and The Mysterines, you seriously need Cairo Station in your life.
P.S: If you know what’s good for you, you’ll hop on this band wagon now, as we’re sure to see great things from this band.
