Intimate And Chilled: ZOAX – ‘Tears in your eyes’ Review

Benjamin Hacking

Influenced by European electronic music, ZOAX is a Belgium based electro-pop artist/producer striving to explore the maze of emotions that drive us. Having recently released his latest single ‘Tears in your eyes’ ZOAX continues down this path, delving into the complexities of love through his electronically influenced music.

Accompanying typically punchy electronic drums, characterful percussive elements and a fuzzy bassline, ‘Tears in your eyes’ is led by an intimate vocal performance throughout. With ‘Tears in your eyes’ ZOAX puts forward an incredibly chilled-out vibe session filled with all the punch and production prowess that one would expect from the electronic world of music.

Showing off these production talents, ZOAX manages to make all elements in the track fit together wonderfully, with each complimenting one another and blending seamlessly to create the unmistakable easy listening electro-pop experience.

Through it’s runtime of just over three minutes ‘Tears in your eyes’ by no means reinvents the wheel, it’s an incredibly standard electro-pop song. While this song could unfortunately be subjected to the oversaturation of the electronic scenes, this doesn’t make it a bad track. ‘Tears in your eyes’ is a perfectly fine electro-pop song that would be right at home in the world of clubs and raves, in my opinion it could have just done with a bit more originality.
