Tune In With Keira : 16th October 2024

Once again, it’s ‘Tune In’ Wednesday! This week has been filled with cryptic clues, intimate venue performances and of course plenty of new music. As always, sit back and relax as I take you through all that’s happened this week!

Sam Fender tells fans to “get ready” for new music with cryptic countdowns:

It’s a big week for annoying people like me! Sam Fender has told fans to “get ready” for more news, seemingly hinting at the release date of his new single, ‘People Watching.’ After posting teasers of new songs online earlier this month, the singer-songwriter announced that his third studio album was complete. Additionally, Fender uploaded a live version of ‘People Watching,’ a song he had previously performed at a Plymouth performance and again as the summertime headlining act for Boardmasters.

Fans may now sign up for further information by following the countdown on Fender’s official website. Fans who signed up were notified by SMS and email to “get ready” for updates. The track title ‘People Watching’ and a new press photo are included in the email, which suggests that it will be released in a few days. In addition, the website has a second countdown that, if I’m not mistaken, points to a new announcement on Wednesday, November 13th. This may be a countdown for the upcoming third album or tour.

Fans of Fleetwood Mac conjecture about the band’s online activity

Fans of Fleetwood Mac are currently hypothesising online about the band’s new surge in activity. The iconic group’s new ‘official’ Instagram account was unveiled last weekend. Members Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks are among the eight people who follow the verified page, which is now set to private.

Others pointed out that last week was the 45th anniversary of Fleetwood Mac’s 12th album, ‘Tusk,’ and suggested that a reissue might be on the cards, while others talked about a possible reunion. In another Instagram post, guitarist/singer-songwriter Buckingham, who was let go from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, wished ‘Tusk’ a ‘happy birthday.’

Brooke Combe announces 2025 UK headline tour

With the news of her headline tour, Brooke Combe, one of the most gifted up-and-coming musicians currently on the scene, is poised to take over the country’s music landscape. With the news of this tour and the January 31 release of her debut album, ‘Dancing at the Edge Of The World,’ Combe’s year is already looking promising. Her largest homecoming performance to date is scheduled for April 14th, and there’s no better location than Glasgow’s Barrowland!

Brooke Combe, who is known for her engaging live performances, will begin her eight-day run at Norwich Arts Centre on April 4 and conclude with her biggest headline performance to date on Saturday, April 19, at Glasgow’s Barrowland.

Nieve Ella @ Camden Assembly

To celebrate the release of her new EP, ‘Watch It Ache and Bleed’, Nieve Ella and her band are set to debut the tracks from the EP in full on the 16th of October at London’s Camden Assembly. The event sold-out within 24 hours of going on sale.

With a sold-out headline tour, an incredible festival season, and the success of her 2023 EPs ‘Lifetime of Wanting’ and ‘Young & Naïve,’ Ella is poised to take things to the next level. After her successful time as Girl in Red’s opening act for her 21-date UK and European arena tour, she just announced her 18-date headline tour, ‘Watch It Ache And Bleed,’ which will begin in February 2025 around the UK and EU.

What Have I Been Listening To This Week?

Full Circle – Good Health Good Wealth : Bruce Breakey, the singer, producer, and lyricist of “Full Circle,” describes the day-to-day activities of a typical twentysomething male in London. In essence, the music runs similarly, with a hint of the anxious intensity of clipping, reminiscent of The Streets returning to their roots.

She Plays The Theremin – Balancing Act : While embracing a developing sense of musical grandeur, which is undoubtedly impressive from a band that is obviously still just enjoying their music, the alt-rock group maintains their distinctive stamp on the song with their uniquely dark soundscape and catchy hooks.

Love Bomb – Seb Lowe : There are a lot of strong guitar riffs on the song, and the harmonies perfectly match Lowe’s vocals. Every lyric of this song has a cheery spirit that is characteristic of Blossoms.

Elysium – Bohmen : The rising and falling tempo of this song’s chorus, which echoes Biffy Clyro, highlights the tremendous intensity that throughout the entire song.

Little Boys – Hannah Mazey : The track conveys the discoveries and difficulties of letting go of toxic relationships, regaining control of your life, and knowing when to let up. It features catchy hooks and a dynamic blend of contemporary and indie-pop elements.
