After releasing their new album ‘Midas’ at the end of August, Wunderhorse started their fully sold out, 14 date tour across the UK and Ireland this month. One of the shows played as part of this tour was at the O2 Academy Brixton in front of their biggest crowd to date, and what an incredible way this was to show what they can do under pressure.
This set included 15 songs, with a mixture of mostly songs from the newest album ‘Midas’ as well as a number of songs off of their debut album ‘Cub’ including some of their biggest hits ‘Teal’ and ‘Leader of The Pack’ just to name a couple. The crowd was also treated to the rarity of a song off the band’s frontman, Jacob Slater’s solo album, ‘Pinky, I Love You’ despite not being on the setlist due to some technical difficulties throughout the set.
During the entirety of the set, the bands energy was immense, moving around the stage the whole time which really helped to keep the crowd bouncing and singing along. This was also followed by Jacobs incredible vocals and outstanding performance from the band.
As seen at many of their performances recently, the band finished off with one of their newer hits ‘July’ where we really got a chance to see the band let themselves go and play in the moment.
This is the start of something really special for the band also recently announcing their headline show at Alexandra Palace in May 2025, after releasing just two albums this is a massive statement for the band and gives just a snippet of what’s to come for them. Could we be seeing Wunderhorse headlining major festivals and venues in the next 5 years? It is a real possibility and definitely a journey you will want to follow.
