Hey everyone, welcome to this weeks instalment of ‘Tune In’, where I’ll be bringing you all the latest music news from around the world! I’m going to drive straight into this one so get ready!
Spotify Wrapped 2024
This is my version of the Olympics, and my gold medal is being in the top 0.001% of listeners for ‘Teal’ by Wunderhorse. It won’t come as a shock to any of your that Catfish & The Bottlemen, Sam Fender and Inhaler were all in my top 5 streamed artists.
This year’s Wrapped rundown has a few new features. Among these is a recent AI development that allows fans to delve deeper into the best songs, performers, and genres of the year. A tailored playlist of music videos from their favourite 2024 artists will be sent to premium listeners.
Father John Misty Announces 2025 UK Tour
A 2025 tour of the UK and Ireland has been announced by Father John Misty. In June and August of next year, he is scheduled to visit places such as Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, Glasgow, and Dublin.
He is scheduled to tour the UK and Ireland with his brand-new album, ‘Mahashmashana’. Following FJM’s sold-out April run of UK performances, the forthcoming shows will undoubtedly be a victorious celebration of his highly regarded most recent album.
TRNSMT 2025
TRNSMT 2025 will include 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, and Snow Patrol as the main acts. The first wave of performers for the upcoming festival, which will return to its Glasgow Green location from July 11–13, 2025, for its eighth edition, have been revealed by the organisers, who previously asked prospective attendees who they would want to see as the main act.
Fontaines D.C., The Script, Gracie Abrams, Inhaler, Confidence Man, Kneecap, The Kooks, The Lathums, and Wet Leg are among the artists scheduled to perform alongside the main acts. Jamie Webster, Twin Atlantic, Jake Bugg, Sigrid, Wunderhorse, Underworld, Shed Seven, and Nina Nesbitt are just some of the other names on the bill.
Sam Fender starts his ‘People Watching’ tour
Though Sam Fender’s tour begins this week with his first engagement in Dublin, I’m already counting down the days until I get to see him. Fender debuted two songs from the album during his set list that evening. The first, ‘Arm’s Length,’ has not yet been formally released, the second was ‘Nostalgia’s Lie’, while the third, ‘Wild Long Lie,’ was made available on streaming services yesterday.
Songs from his popular 2021 album, his 2019 debut single ‘Hypersonic Missiles,’ his debut EP cut ‘Spice,’ and his single ‘All Is On My Side’ were also played. Nevertheless, two of Fender’s most influential songs, ‘The Dying Light’ and ‘Dead Boys,’ have been removed from the set list.
