After a standout year in 2024, Manchester based rockers SHADE clearly have no intention on slowing down with their latest track ‘Trouble Calls My Name’: a high intensity rock anthem that was been released yesterday, which is sure to propel them into a truly fantastic year of new music, massive gigs, and an ever growing fan following.]

Having followed this band for a long while now, I am always so curious to see where their music will take them next — and honestly, they never fail to both surprise and impress me. When their last single ‘Supercars’ was released, a retrospective power ballad focusing on the highs and lows of the music industry, I was unsure what we would see from the band next , as the tune felt a lot like the closing of a chapter in their careers. Yet, despite my concerns on what the trajectory of this band would now look like, SHADE, as they always do, have completely knocked me off my feet with this new release.
‘Trouble Calls My Name’ is a true testament to the band’s dedication to their craft from the beginning to the very end. Written and produced by the band’s very own Luke Owens, ‘Trouble Calls My Name’ is a truly authentic piece of music that reflects the ethos of SHADE, highlighitng every band member’s talents in order to create a fantastically original, yet cohesive piece of art. From its thought provoking lyrics discussing the realities of addiction to the sonic experimentation of blending an almost electro pop sound with their classic guitar music that they are known so well for, SHADE is the embodiment of the Manchester music scene, reflecting the city’s rich musical heritage, as well as paving the way for a completely fresh sound.
With a stacked year ahead of them, including a headline show at Manchester Gorilla, SHADE are seriously reaching new heights in their musical career. So take my advice and listen to them now before they’re huge and have eternal bragging rights!
