John Denton, a young up and coming singer/songwriter from Salford is releasing his new track ‘NOT THE SAME’ on the 21st February 2025. John Denton has recently begun his solo career following his position as frontman of the band ‘The Height’. He has been gaining impressive recognition in the music scene in recent years at just 14 years old he already has grown a following and even won the Johnny Marr Award in 2023.
‘NOT THE SAME’ comes as John Denton’s first solo release. It is a catchy Indie tune with amazing instrumentals throughout. The rhythm is infectious, supporting his strong vocal delivery. Lyrically the track discusses inequalities in the world and seeks to address the pressures faced by a modern society; looking at comparison and the impact comparing ourselves to one another can have on an individual and their mental health. The track allows for this deep lyrical conversation; far beyond his years to be had along side a fantastic and memorable guitar rhythm, making it not only thought provoking but easy to listen to.
As a debut, ‘NOT THE SAME’ leaves a lasting impression. John Denton’s ability to tackle serious topics with poise is remarkable. After listening ‘NOT THE SAME’ creates excitement for future releases which we hope to see throughout the rest of 2025.
