At some point in everyone’s life, they’ve experienced a wild, chaotic, and carefree night out that’s filled with drama and maybe a little too much fun. The aftermath, though, can often leave you with a sense of existential dread, questioning everything as the morning sun rises. Yet, when you think back on the night—well, what you can actually remember—you realise you wouldn’t actually change a thing.
Sleeping Together’s new single of 2025, “The Essentials,” captures this feeling perfectly, with lyrics that paint a foolproof visualisation. This lively bunch have truly set a high bar for upcoming bands, especially following their well-received single ‘Daisy (Marc Jacobs)’ back in February 2024.
‘The Essentials’ hits hard with its infectious melody. The direct punch of the lead vocalist’s phrasing brings an aggressive yet pleasant energy to the track that overall compliments the songs bouncy feel. The counter melody weaves seamlessly in the background, supporting the vocals and driving the song forward at a perfect pace. The off-beat drumming adds to the intoxicating edge, giving the song an undeniable sense of energy and good vibes that make it impossible to resist.
Without a doubt, Sleeping Together are sure to turn heads this 2025, becoming a sure favourite amongst the sea of other artists.. I can assure you ‘The Essentials’ is bound to become a staple in my playlist.
