After years of ascending through London’s smallest venues, Louis Dunford has hit the Alexandra Palace just in time to celebrate the release of his debut album ‘Be Lucky’.
In what was the last of a 15-leg tour, Louis Dunfrod was in for his biggest show to date. The atmosphere was rife, building up as ‘Come On Eileen’ blared through the speakers, shortly followed by the entrance of Dunford and his band.
The band flew straight into song, opening with the first track off his debut album, ‘Superman’, which was the perfect way to get the crowd in the mood for the rest of the show. With a mixture of old, new, mellow, and upbeat (as well as a cover of ‘Freed From Desire’) it was a perfectly crafted setlist, there was something for everybody.
Dunford, throughout the set, continuously displayed an incredible level of interaction with his audience, keeping everyone engaged and entertained.
It was then time for the encore, where Dunford’s biggest hit, ‘The Angel’, was played — and what an incredible atmosphere it created. With 10,000 people singing back the iconic line “North London Forever”, it became a truly special memory for everyone there. After that, the show began to wind down with a brilliant performance of a newer track from his debut album, ‘The Local’.
Louis and the band made themselves incredibly proud with this gig playing their biggest venue to date and still putting on an amazing show despite the huge amount of pressure. Louis Dunford has already come so far in such a short amount of time with an extremely promising future ahead. What will we see next? A second album? Bigger venues? Whatever it is we are all very excited to see.
